At BatteriesASAP.com, we strive to bring you the best quality batteries, at some of the lowest prices you’ll find online. Because we only sell batteries online, we don’t have the same expenses and overhead as a brick-and-mortar store, and we pass the savings on to you.

How do I know I am getting quality batteries from Batteries ASAP?

We sell only name brand, high quality batteries with a proven history and the highest safety standards. You will always get what you pay for, never a bait-and-switch with substandard batteries that can sometimes be unreliable or even dangerous. All batteries are new and factory fresh, with a one-year manufacturer’s. warranty.

Suitable crosses are the same in voltage but may vary in amp hour (AH) capacity.

Does BatteriesASAP.com provide a warranty for the batteries it sells?

Most manufacturers offer at least a one-year warranty against defects and workmanship. BatteriesASAP.com will handle all warranty issues for the first 30 days from your date of purchase. After this period, warranty issues must be handled through the manufacturer. If you receive a defective product, please call 1-(800)-372-4066 and we will provide an RMA or manufacturers contact information.

Will I get the exact battery I ordered, or will you substitute another brand?

At BatteriesASAP.com, you will always get what you order, no brand substitutions.* We can supply most major brands. The only time a substitution will be offered is if the product you order is out of stock. However, it will not be shipped without your prior approval.

 

*This does not apply to the Big Dog / Best Value section. Big Dog is our house brand. If you order a Big Dog product, we will ship you the exact product if we have it in stock. If not, we will ship out the most cost-effective replacement. We offer a wide selection of products from many brands, and for many applications.

BatteriesASAP.com has been in business since 1996. Our parent company, Metroplex Battery, has been in business since 1988. We offer great pricing, fast service, high quality products and reliable delivery of the exact products you need.

I can’t find the battery I’m looking for on your website. Can you stock it?

If you do not see the battery you are seeking on this website, please call 1-800-706-7009. We can supply most major brand batteries and UPS systems.

How accurate are the battery dimensions? I want to ensure a correct fit.

Battery dimensions given on BatteriesASAP.com are generally accurate to within tenths of an inch. If the battery is a tight fit in your application, it is recommended that you check the dimensions carefully or purchase the direct replacement battery.

Do you offer discounts for large-quantity orders?

Yes. If you are purchasing large quantities or buy batteries often, call us at 1-800-706-7009 for discounts or discount coupons to save.

Why have prices of batteries gone up again?

Lead prices are rising. In the past year, costs of lead have risen over 120%. We have seen four price increases for some manufacturers, in this year alone. All of the manufacturers we carry have recently increased their prices, or will do so in the near future. We are doing our best to keep prices down, but have been forced to raise costs accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope you will continue to let us supply your battery needs.

Shipping Information

Do you offer same-day shipping?

Yes, our shipping hours are:

Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. CST.

Orders placed before 2:00 p.m. CST, Monday – Friday (except holidays) will be shipped the same day they are placed, for in-stock items. Orders placed after 2:00 p.m. CST are not guaranteed to ship out the same day. Saturday delivery is not available.

For out-of-stock items, orders will be processed the same day, if received before 2:00 p.m. CST, and will usually ship in 2-3 days. You will receive an acknowledgment e-mail letting you know when your order is estimated to ship. When the order ships, you will receive an e-mail providing the UPS tracking number.

What are your expedited shipping options?

We understand the need to receive your batteries fast and will guarantee shipping the same day if the order is placed before 2:00 p.m. CST, Monday – Friday (except holidays), and the item is in-stock. If we happen to be out of stock, we have a great relationship with all of the manufacturers we handle and will work with them to expedite your order.

 

If, for any reason, we cannot ship the product you ordered as requested, we will contact you immediately by phone and e-mail.

Do you offer free shipping?

No. In order to make it easier for you to compare pricing online, we do not include shipping costs in our prices. We use major freight lines for large orders, and your ship-to state freight costs will be added after you enter your zip code.

What is the Texas Battery Sales Fee?

BatteriesASAP.com is located in Texas. In accordance with Texas law, we are required to collect a battery sales fee for all Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries over 10Ah shipped to any address located in Texas. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality uses revenue from the battery fee for many programs that help protect the state’s environment. Fees are applied as follows:


$3.00 per battery – for all 12V (or higher) batteries equal to or greater than 10AH.

$2.00 per battery – for all batteries under 12V, equal to or greater than 10AH

 

Due to limitations on this Yahoo site we are unable to automatically calculate these charges. If you are ordering batteries shipping to an address in Texas, please place a note in the comments section that it is “OK to add Texas State Battery Sales Fee”. If this is not included in comments the order may be held until we contact you and get approval.

 

Resellers may be exempt if they collect and report this fee to the state. Please call 800-706-7009 if there are any questions or for exemption.

What is the Residential / Limited Access Fee?

Any orders weighing over 150 lbs. or containing HAZMAT items (i.e. wet cell batteries/flooded batteries filled with acid) will ship via motor freight. When motor freight orders ship to residential areas, lift gates are required for delivery, and a $50 fee will apply.

My company is tax-exempt. How do I remove the sales tax from my order?

If you are tax exempt and do not want to be charged tax, please make a note in the comments section when placing your order. Then fax a copy of your tax exempt form to (214)654-0083. We do not charge tax to any state other than Texas.

Why is my order delayed / why am I receiving a partial shipment?

BatteriesASAP.com stocks and ships approximately 90% of the batteries we offer in our warehouse located in Dallas, Texas. On occasion, we may need to drop ship your order from the manufacturer for one of the following reasons:

 

  1. We have sold out of our stock
  2. We have received a large-quantity order that exceeds the amount of product we have in stock.
  3. Two or more different products were ordered, and we are out of stock on a given product. In this case, we may send a partial shipment from our warehouse, and a partial shipment from our manufacturer’s warehouse.

 

In general if you receive a conformation e-mail stating, “Will ship in 2-3 days,” it is likely that the product is being drop shipped from the manufacturer. There may be a delay in getting a tracking number, but the product should ship as expected.

My order has been marked as “backordered.” What are my options?

We apologize for the delay in receiving your items as ordered. We know you need your batteries quickly, and will do our best to accommodate you. From time to time, a manufacturer will run out of stock, requiring us to backorder the product until the manufacturer receives their stock. When this happens, we will call and/or e-mail you to let you know the status and offer a comparable battery that we have in stock, if available. You may elect to wait for the product to arrive, accept a substitute or cancel the order.

Can you charge the shipping to my account?

BatteriesASAP.com no longer offers shipping on our customers’ accounts for online orders. If you would like to ship on your own account, please call 1-800-706-7009.

Can you ship batteries outside of the U.S.A.?

No. Regretfully, we no longer ship to countries outside of the U.S.A. due to unpredictable customs fees.

Can you ship my batteries to a P.O. Box?

No. We ship via UPS, which requires a street address for deliveries. If you add a ship to as your delivery address it may delay order processing.

How will my batteries be packaged?

All batteries shipped from our warehouse are wrapped in bubble wrap and packed in a box with Styrofoam peanuts. Cases of batteries shipped from our warehouse are wrapped in bubble wrap and double-boxed. It is rare that batteries shipped from our warehouse are damaged in shipping.

How much do you charge for shipping/freight?

We charge fair and accurate freight, to keep your costs down. You may check freight costs before you finalize your order by proceeding to the checkout with your items, and entering the delivery address. Freight costs will be calculated after you enter your state and zip code.

In most cases, our end price, including freight, will be lower than other battery websites that offer free freight. If your order is shipping to a residential area via motor freight (required for orders over 150 lbs. or containing HAZMAT items), there will be an additional $50.00 Residential Fee added to your total before the order is shipped.

How does the ordering process work?

  1. Select your battery/batteries.
  2. Place your order online, and submit payment.
  3. When we receive your order, we will send you a receive conformation e-mail with the estimated ship time.

In-Stock Items:

If your order is in stock (90% of the time,  it will be), the e-mail will state,
“Will ship within 24 hours.” For orders received before 2:00 p.m. CST, this means the order is being packed and will usually ship the same day Monday – Friday (except holidays). Orders received after 2:00PM CST will be processed the following business day.

Your credit card will not be charged until the product ships.

Our “Get it Right” Guarantee! All shipments are double checked for correct part number and quantities. If we ship the incorrect battery or incorrect quantities, we will make it right by shipping you the correct battery or additional quantities and paying all of the freight costs including issuing a call tag for returned battery (when applicable) in a timely manner. If we cannot provide the replacement or additional products in a timely manner your money will be refunded. Disputes must be presented within 30 Days of purchase.

I ordered the wrong battery. Can I get a refund?

Sure. We all make mistakes. If you find that the battery you ordered is not the right one, its no problem. Simply call 1-(800)-372-4066 for a Return Authorization Number and you may return your battery for a full refund (less freight). Requests must be within 30 days of purchase, and buyer is responsible for original and return freight costs. Battery must be received in good sellable condition and returned within 30 Days of RMA issuance.

May I place my order over the phone instead of online?

  1. Our efficient online ordering process allows us to bring you the best prices, fastest processing and delivery times, and seamless order tracking. For faster service, and to ensure we are able to keep our prices low, please place orders online.

General Battery Questions and Information

How important is the brand when selecting a battery?

Just like any other product on the market, there is a difference in battery quality from brand to brand. The quality of a battery will affect the reliability of the equipment it is used in. There are many websites that offer batteries, but in many cases you may not receive the brand that you ordered or want. Some websites may promote one battery, but state (in fine print) that the battery they actually stock is just a “suitable” substitute.

How does the Ah (Amp Hour) rating affect a battery?

The Ah (Amp Hour) rating is a measure of the battery’s capacity. It is like the size of the gas tank in your car. The higher the Ah rating, the more run time you can expect from the battery. It is common to replace a 12V 4Ah battery with a 12V 5Ah battery in alarm systems and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems

How do I dispose of old SLA batteries properly?

Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries must be recycled. It is illegal to throw this type of battery in the trash, as doing so causes environmental damage. At BatteriesASAP.com, we will dispose of your old sealed lead acid battery at no charge when you purchase a battery from us. Simply place your old battery in the same box you received you new battery in, and ship it to us at BatteriesASAP.com, 2750 Electronic Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220. Be sure to mark the box as “BAD Battery” or “Recycle Battery.” Please dispose of your batteries properly.

Am I required to recycle alkaline batteries?

No. Disposal laws do not apply to alkaline batteries. While BatteriesASAP will recycle SLA batteries for you, we do not accept nickel cadmium batteries for recycling.

Do you provide batteries for UPS systems?

Yes. Many of the batteries we offer are used in UPS systems. We can provide UPS batteries for most major brands, including APC, Powerware, MGE, Tripplite, Minuteman, GE, and many more. Please call and talk to one of our UPS application engineers at 1-800-706-7009 for more information.

I’ve replaced the battery in my uninterruptible power supply (UPS) System, but I’m still having problems. Can you help?

Yes. Batteries are the reason for most (up to 80%) of UPS failures. If the batteries you order from us do not fix the problem you are having with your UPS, and you purchase a replacement UPS from BatteriesASAP.com, we will apply a credit in the amount of your previously purchased batteries toward the purchase of your new system. We will also pay for the freight of the used batteries you ship back to us. (Valid for 30 days from original purchase of batteries.)

How do I decide what type of UPS System to order?

Not all UPS systems are created equal. Generally, there are three levels of protection most manufacturers offer. Click here to better understand the technologies offered, or call us at 1-800-706-7009.

What is the average life expectancy of a battery?

The average life expectancy of most standby batteries is between 3-5 years. At the 3-year mark, it is likely the battery is losing capacity, causing low reliability. By the 5-year mark, complete failure may occur. When placing your order, please leave a note in the comments section if you would like to be reminded in 3 years that your battery needs replacement. Please also note the type of equipment in which your battery is being used, such as a home alarm, UPS, emergency lighting, etc. You may also include the serial number of the equipment (optional). There is no charge for this service.

How do I know if my batteries have gone bad?

When testing batteries with a volt meter, they may still show the proper voltage when under charge or off charge—even when they have gone bad. To properly test a battery, you must either use battery-testing equipment, or the battery must have a load on it.

Batteries used in most standby equipment, such as UPS systems, emergency lighting, alarm systems, etc. will have a low voltage disconnect (LVD), which will disconnect the battery from being discharged below 87.5% of nominal voltage.

Example 1: 12 Volt Battery x 87.5% = 10.5 volts

Therefore, a 12 Volt battery will stop discharging at 10.5 volts.
This also applies to strings in series.

 

Example 2: 4-12V batteries in series will produce 48 Volts.

48 x 87.5% = 42 volts
This string will be disconnected from the circuit by the LVD at 42 volts.

Is it OK to mix old and new batteries?

Not if you want your batteries to last. You may have heard the advice to “Never replace a partial string of batteries.” This is not an old wives tale—it’s true! When you put new batteries in a string with old batteries, they will take on the characteristics of the older batteries and will require replacement much sooner and cost more in the long run. The charger will see the string as a single battery, and older batteries may cause over-charging or under-charging of the new batteries, leading to premature failure. This will also cause the equipment to be less reliable.
